The Surana & Surana National Corporate Law Moot was created with the goal of providing opportunities to learn about the evolution of jurisprudence on emerging issues in Corporate Law while also honing cutting-edge research, writing, and advocacy abilities.
The Surana & Surana National Corporate Law Moot Court Competition will include a judgement writing competition with the following principle and purpose:
- Aside from the main principle of establishing the rule of law and protecting justice, a judgement has a social and civic function.
- To do so, it must “think clearly, explain the decision to the parties, disclose the decision’s reasoning to the public, and provide a basis for an appeal court to examine.”
- To cultivate a well-balanced, prudent mentality.
- Prevent the abuse of the legal system.
Eligibility Criteria
The competition is available to students enrolled in a three-year or five-year LLB programme this academic year who are interested in Tax, Corporate, and Commercial Laws and who attend one of the invited institutions.
Students from the Indian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Indian Institute of Company Secretaries are also allowed to compete. Students who have completed law, company secretary, or Chartered Accountant degrees or courses are not eligible.
