IOCL Recruitment 2022: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has invited Online Applications from the Candidates Eligible for recruitment to the Post Experienced Law Officers. The Candidates meeting the notified Eligibility Criteria for the Posts 01) Senior Law Officer (Grade A1) and 02.
Law Officer (Grade A) may apply Online. There are total 18 Vacancies comprising 09 Vacancies each for IOCL Recruitment. The Last Date for Online Application/Registration shall close on 14th August 2022. Online Application/Registration will have to be done as per the instructions.
Selection Process: The Selection Process for the Post Senior Law Officer (Grade A1) and Law Officer (Grade A) shall consist of the candidate’s Performance in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2022 Master’s Degree/Post Graduate Examination, Group Discussion (GD), Group Task (GT) and Personal Interview (PI).
Shortlisting of the Eligible candidates for Group Discussion, Group Task and Personal Interview shall be conducted Category-wise in descending order of their Marks (Out of 120) obtained in the CLAT 2022 (for PG Group) Examination.
IOCL 2022 Merit List: Merit List with 100% Due Weight age for Final Selection to the Posts of Senior Law Officer and Law Officer will be drawn up as follows:
- Marks Obtained in the CLAT 2022 (Weightage 85%)
- Group Discussion and Group Task (Weightage 05%)
- Personal Interview (Weightage 10%)

Name of the Post: Senior Law Officer/Law Officer:
- Senior Law Officer (Grade A1) in Pay Scale Rs.60000 to Rs.180000 and Gross Emoluments Rs. 19.51 Lacs (09 Vacancies)
- Law Officer (Grade A) in Pay Scale Rs.50000 to Rs.160000 and Gross Emoluments Rs. 16.26 Lacs (09 Vacancies)
Upper Age Limit: The Applicants from the General/EWS category should not exceed 30 years (for Grade A) and 33 years (for Grade A1). Category-wise Relaxation in Upper Age Limit may be viewed in the IOCL Recruitment Notification.
Educational Qualification: In respect of General/EWS/OBC (NCL) Candidates, he or she should have pursued Full-time Regular Course from the Institution/College/University/Deemed University duly recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC)/All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in either of the following Qualifying Discipline:
Bachelor’s/Graduate Degree in any Discipline AND Bachelor’s Degree in Laws/Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.) with 60% Marks in Graduation and LL.B. 55% Marks to be obtained by SCs/STs/PwBDs.
Or
05-years’ Integrated Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.) Degree with 60% Marks in Graduation and LL.B. 55% Marks to be obtained by SC/ST/PwBD.
Note: The Legum Baccalaureus/Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) should also be duly recognized by the Bar Council of India.
Desired Skills:
The Candidate should have the following:
a) Knowledge of all Applicable Laws, Rules and Regulations
b) Excellent Written and Verbal Communication
c) Experience in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical Industry
d) Ability to prepare complex Legal Documents
NB: The Work Experience of the Candidates shall be reckoned towards Eligibility that has been obtained following the Date of Announcement of the Final Year’s Law Qualification Result.
Candidate’s Only Work Experience from following concerns/areas only shall be taken into account towards Eligibility:
- Be practicing as an Advocate in the Courts or Tribunals
- Working with the Law Firms
- Working with Central/State Governments handling Legal functions.
- Working with Private/Public Sector Organizations handling Legal functions
Essential Work Experience Areas:
The Candidates have Working Experience in any of the following Domains:
a. Handling litigation (Civil, Consumer and Criminal matters) before the Judicial/Quasi-Judicial Fora/Forums;
b. Arbitration Conciliation and other Dispute Resolution Mechanisms;
c. Drafting & vetting various Legal or Contractual Documents, providing Legal Opinions, handling Legal matters including the issues pertaining to Mergers, Acquisitions and Joint Ventures (JVs), Regulatory matters, etc.
