RESEARCH ASSISTANT (LAW) FOR DPIIT IPR CHAIR – ONE POST
Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur is seeking to engage one full-time Research Assistant (Law) under Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) Chair on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR Chair) on contractual basis. The position is for a period of 08 months i.e. from August 2022 to March 2023. The contract may be further extended depending upon the performance of the candidate and the extension of the IPR Chair by the DPIIT.
About the IPR Chair:
The Chair on IPR is instituted by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India with the vision to “Facilitate Intellectual Property Education and Research”. The Chair on IPR was instituted by the DPIIT at MNLU, Nagpur in the year 2020. The overall objectives of the IPR Chair are laid down in the Scheme for Pedagogy and Research in IPRs for Holistic Education and Academia (SPRIHA).
Responsibilities of the Research Assistant:
The selected Research Assistant will provide support to the DPIIT IPR Chair in conducting its research and other activities. As part of the assigned research, the Research Assistant is expected to engage in diverse research activities including field work, data collection, data analysis, report drafting, etc. Research Assistant are also expected to supervise the work of the student researchers/interns associated with the Chair and/or assist Principal Investigator in conducting research. Research Assistant is also expected to assist in other research and dissemination activities of the DPIIT IPR Chair.
Qualifications:
Candidates holding Under-Graduate Degree (LL.B.) or Post-Graduate Degree in Law (LL.M.), or Ph.D. in Law with demonstrable interest in inter-disciplinary research in the area of intellectual property are encouraged to apply.
Salary:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the candidate as follows:
LL.B. – Rs. 30,000/- per month LL.M. – Rs. 40,000/- per month Ph.D. – Rs. 50,000/- per month
