About
The Government of Andhra Pradesh established Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU) vide DSNLU Act, 2008 at Visakhapatnam to impart quality legal education. It is recognized u/s 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, and the BCI. It has also been granted 12B status by the UGC. Its mission is to design and deliver legal education and promote academic achievements and excellence in legal research.
DSNLU inaugurated Legal Incubation Centre in 2018. The main objectives of the Centre are based on “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”- Maimonide.
It aims to develop entrepreneurship and advocacy skills among young lawyers and students. It acts as an institutional mechanism for providing various services including information on all aspects of professional skills required for budding lawyers.
Legal Incubation Centre has organized three editions of Crime Scene Investigation competitions to date. The response from the participants was encouraging and the same has inspired us to come back with another edition.
ABOUT THE COMPETITION
As part of this initiative, Legal Incubation Centre is organizing a Crime Scene Investigation – Inter University Competition. CSI is multidisciplinary and involves a systematic search of the crime scene with meticulous observation and documentation of the scene; photography and sketching; the identification, processing, and collection of physical evidence such as fingerprints, footprints, hair, fibers, biological fluids, and materials for DNA analysis; and perhaps the most important, the application of observational skills and reasoning capacity by the participants. Hence, this competition would help the participants practically understand and learn more about the circumstances surrounding a crime by using physical evidence from the crime scene and use of inductive and deductive reasoning to analyse.
ELIGIBILITY – The competition is not barred to any field of study. It is open to students and professionals of any streams, gender, and age group.
VENUE – Academic Block, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, ‘NYAYAPRASTHA’, Sabbavaram, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
FEE DETAILS – The fee for registration of the competition is Rs. 300/- (per team). A team shall consist of 3 members.
