Chicago-Kent and Marwadi University will provide a unique opportunity for law students and practicing lawyers from India to gain an introduction to the United States and international legal systems. Chicago-Kent and Marwadi University are going to establish a special Overseas Training Programme under which participants can attend classes taught by Chicago-Kent faculty and subsequently enrol in -Kent’s LLM degree programs (collectively, “LLM Programmes”). This will approximately be a two-week oine program with classes running for 3-4 hours every day during this duration.
A. ELIGIBILITY
- Eligibility for Overseas Training Programme: Anyone who is a law student in good standing of any law school recognised by the BCI (LLB, LLM, or PhD),or a practicing lawyer in India, is eligible to attend the
Overseas Training Program courses, and all participants who successfully complete the courses will receive a Certificate of Completion for the Overseas Training Program. - Eligibility for application to the LLM Programmes: All OTP students in the Overseas Training Programme are eligible to apply for admission to the LLM Programmes at Chicago-Kent College of Law, and
Chicago-Kent will waive the LLM application fee for all Overseas Training Programme participants. Applicants should indicate in their application which of the five LLM Programmes they prefer. - As noted below in Section C, to be considered for admission to the LLM Programmes, participants must successfully complete the Overseas Training Programme with a minimum cumulative 2.7 GPA. Admission
to the LLM Programmes will also be based on recognition of prior work experience and academic background. Participants who fail to achieve the minimum cumulative GPA are permitted to repeat the Overseas
Training Programme in a subsequent year. Any participant who repeats th Overseas Training Programme is required to successfully complete all courses oered in the Programme and earn a cumulative GPA of at
least 2.7 to be considered for admission to the LLM Programmes. Unless other arrangements are made with Chicago-Kent, participants are not permitted to repeat only one or two Overseas Training Programme

- All participants who wish to attend the Overseas Training Programme courses who do not have a TOEFL score of 90 or IELTS score of 6.5 within two years of acceptance into the courses will be required to attend and pass an online Intensive English course to be oered or administered by Chicago-Kent prior to the start of the Overseas Training Programme. The cost of this Intensive English course is separate from the cost of the Overseas
Training Programme. - English Proficiency for LLM Programmes: Chicago-Kent’s LLM Programmes require English proficiency, so all Overseas Training Programme graduates (including those who attended the Intensive English course)
who are admitted to the LLM Programmes will be required to attend a two-week Legal English course in Chicago, unless they can provide a TOEFL score of 90 or IELTS score of 6.5. The English proficiency test report
must be dated within the most recent two-year period preceding an applicant’s admission to the LLM Programme. The Legal English course will usually take place at the beginning of August, prior to the
commencement of the academic year. - Cost of Legal English Course in Chicago: The cost of the Legal English course in Chicago will be $1,990 per person, which will be billed separately, and which will be in addition to the LLM Programme tuition
charges. The Legal English course does not provide course credits toward the LLM degree; the tuition cost for the Legal English course may increase in future years.

They must submit all required LLM Programme application documents, including an application essay, ocial copies of prior law school transcripts (translated into English), proof of prior law degree(s), and two
