Type: Full-time/ Part-time
Applicants may also choose to pursue their PhD on a full-time or part-time basis, based on their availability and commitments.
The PhD program has certain requirements that candidates must fulfll:
• Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in a relevant technical and/or legal field. Candidates with a background in international law will be given preference.
• Entrance Examinations: Candidates required to pass written exams that assess their understanding of the subject matter and their ability to critically analyze relevant literature and research.
• Research Proposal: Applicants need to develop a comprehensive research proposal outlining their intended area of study, research objectives, methodology, and expected outcomes.
• Coursework: Candidates required to complete 12 credits of course work. Thesis: The core component of a PhD program is the completion of an original and significant research project. Candidates are expected to conduct
in-depth rescarch, collect and analyze data, and present their findings in the form ofa thesis.
• Defense: After completing the thesis or dissertation, candidates are typically required to defend their research before a committee of faculty members. This defense involves presenting their work, answering questions, and engaging in a scholarly discussion about their research.
Teaching and Coaching: PhD candidates may have teaching or coaching responsibilities. This could involve assisting in undergraduate courses, mentoring students, or providing guidance to junior researchers.
• Fellowships will be awarded to full time scholars based on the merit, providing a monthly amount of INR 40,000.
