About the SEBI
The Securities and Exchange Board of India was constituted as a non-statutory body on April 12, 1988, through a resolution of the Government of India, theSecurities and Exchange Board of India was established as a statutory body in the year 1992 and the provisions of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 (15 of 1992) came into force on January 30, 1992.
SEBI has three powers rolled into one body: quasi-legislative, quasi-judicial, and quasi-executive. It drafts regulations in its legislative capacity, it conducts investigation and enforcement action in its executive function and it passes rulings and orders in its judicial capacity, though this makes it very powerful, there is an appeal process to create accountability.
About the Opportunity
SEBI invites applications from Indian citizens for the post of Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager) for
the Legal Stream under twenty- five vacancies.
Number of Vacancies
The Securities and Exchange Board of India reserves twenty-five posts under the department named Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager).
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicants must possess a degree in Law from a recognized University / Institute.
- Two years post-qualification experience as an Advocate (including as an associate in an Advocate’s or Solicitor’s Office or Law firm) after being enrolled under the Advocates Act, 1961 (25 of 1961) shall be a desirable qualification.
