ABOUT (LATE) PROF. (DR.) S.R. BHANSALI
The Emeritus Professor of Law, Prof. Bhansali was an illustrious legal scholar of India. Having served the Rajasthan University at Jaipur in various capacities, he moved to JNVU Jodhpur and served as Dean and Head of Faculty of Law for more than a decade. He guided more than 20 scholars for Ph.D. and LL.D. During his tenure the Faculty of LawJNVU attained National and International recognition Author of 20 classic books on Cooperative Law, Constitutional Law, Human Rights, Transfer of Property Act, Prof. Bhansali was one of the great researcher and writer. His books on Cooperative Law and Transfer of Property Act recived Awards from govt. of India He visited and delivered lectures at several Indian and International Universities such as Oxford, London, Frankfurt, Leuven, Auckland, Victoria, Sydney and Tokyo as visiting professor. He also visited International Court of Justice- The Hague. Prof. (Dr.) S.R. Bhansali National Award for Excellence in Law Rajasthan High Court appointed him as Chairman of Commission on Untouchability. It was the visionary leadership and initiative by Prof. Bhansali due to which The National Law University at Jodhpur was established.
ABOUT AWARD
This award has been established by the Family Trust ( Prof Sanwat Raj Uchab Kanwar Bhansali Educational and Cheritable Trust- Jaipur) In the revered and perpetual memory of Professor S.R. BHANSALI- (A leading and eminent Legal Scholar of and Administrator of National repute.
ABOUT PRIZE
The award carries a cash Prize of Rs One Lac( subject to applicable deductions as per existing tax laws), Citation and Plaque of Honour.
ABOUT NOMINATION
The nomination for consideration of the Prof S.R. Bhansali National Award can be submitted by any meritorious and outstanding legal scholar, legal professional or law officer from India, who has made a significant contribution and belongs to age group of 30 – 70 years on the date of nomination. The nomination can be made by self or by any distinguished expert. on behalf of the nominee. Each nomination must be supported with nessesary testimonials and photocopies of documents nessesary for consideration. The nomination can be submitted online with all supporting documents to Prof. Dr. MK Bhandari (mail id given below) entitled as Nomination for Prof. S.R. Bhansali National Award for Excellence in Law There is no specific form or pro-forma for filing nomination. However the nominee is requested to submit his/her resume along with a write up highlighting his/her contribution. The last date for filing nomination is 30th November, 2023. The nomination recd. after last date (unless extended) shall not be considered for the award
PLEASE NOTE
Any solicitation to any of the Jury members will incur disqualification.
There is no specific Form and Fee for making Nomination .
However, the Nomination along with all necessary supportive documents which the nominee thinks may help in fair consideration by Jury may be sent via online in mail to———– in words and PDF format.
An acknowledgment of the receipt of Nomination will be sent to the Sender. The Jury may also request for additional documnets as may be required for fair and necessary consideration at the selection stage.
TIMELINE
The last date of Nomination shall be November 30, 2023 ( unless further extended)
The Panel of Jury will make all the efforts to complete the process of Selection and announce final results by Dec.15. 2023
The first Award Ceremony is proposed on January 8 ,2024 the Jayanti of Late Prof. S.R. Bhansali.
The venue and other details will be shared well in time. The presence of Winner shall be required to receive the award during award ceremony
