Provides legal assistance to corporate attorneys. Acts as liaison between company attorneys, outside counsel, organizations and in-house employees. Compiles data from legal digests, encyclopedias and practice manuals. Assembles, proofs and edits drafts of contracts, leases, licenses and insurance policies. Prepares and files legal documents with appropriate entities, as required. Conducts research on projects as directed by corporate attorneys. May review and ensure the company’s compliance with regulations. Assists internally in analyzing documents. Counsels on progress of cases. May assist with the review and preparation of patent material and applications. Requires paralegal certification, law office experience and knowledge of office automation equipment/software related to activities.
Working at NTT
The role of Paralegal is to work on corporate law matters under the supervision of licensed attorneys. The primary responsibility of Paralegals is to help in many aspects of corporate transactions. They will assist NTT’s legal department in many facets of corporate law, such as assist with corporate litigation procedures and other specific business legal needs.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist legal and compliance teams on legal business issues
- Responsible for reviewing, tracking, and monitoring legislation that impacts the company’s products and/or processes
- Update legal team with timely analysis and summaries of new legislation/regulations affecting the business
- Assist in implementing changes to contracts to comply with legislation/regulations
- Responsible for support related to litigation, mediation, arbitration, and responses to complaints
- Renew and maintain company licensing
- Draft, file and manage various business entity documents
- Draft legal contracts, correspondence and other legal documents
- Assist with minute taking/capture during legal and other proceedings
- Assist with any other administrative matters as required
Knowledge, skills and attributes:
- Proficiency using virtual data rooms to upload and organize documents
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superb attention to detail, as well as organizational and multitasking skills
- Proactive approach to work and willingness to learn
- Excellent research abilities
- Good teamwork and collaboration abilities
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field
- Paralegal certification is preferred
Experience required:
- Prior demonstrated experience in similar role gained within a similar environment
