Aquis Search is currently assisting our client, a premier wealth management group in their search for a Head of Legal in Mumbai.
Summary:
In this pivotal leadership role, you will collaborate closely with the business, providing strategic advisory, overseeing contracting, and spearheading the group’s litigation initiatives. Expertise in arbitration laws, especially in exchange and stock market-related matters, will be paramount.
We are seeking a lawyer with 18-20 years of PQE ideally with recent and relevant experience within a wealth management setting.
Responsibilities:
Legal Compliance:
- Stay current with relevant financial regulations, securities laws, and industry-specific legal requirements.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the firm’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess legal risks associated with the firm’s operations and investment strategies.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and policies to protect the firm’s legal interests.
Contract Management:
- Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of contracts, including client agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements.
- Ensure that contracts align with the firm’s legal and business objectives.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
- Manage and oversee any legal disputes, litigation, or regulatory investigations involving the firm.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel and represent the firm’s interests in legal proceedings.
Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Support:
- Provide legal guidance and support during M&A activities, including due diligence, negotiations, and integration.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout the M&A process.
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
- Ensure we compliance during any funding cycle that company goes through.
