About the Workshop

The National workshop will delve into how intellectual property can be effectively leveraged to stimulate creativity and innovation at all levels, from individual inventors and creative professionals to large corporations and academic institutions. Participants will gain insights into the various forms of intellectual property, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets, and how these tools can be used to safeguard and incentivize the creation and dissemination of innovative and creative outputs. This Engaging workshop will cover the mechanisms of IPR that support the innovation ecosystem, addressing current challenges and opportunities within the framework of national and international intellectual property laws. Through expert-led sessions and interactive discussions, attendees will learn about strategic IP management, the economic impact of IP investments, and the balance between IP protection and the public domain. This workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to navigate the complex landscape of intellectual property rights and use these tools to boost their own creative and innovative endeavours. Intellectual Property Rights are intangible rights based on human intellect, including copyright, patent, trademark, etc. They encourage innovation but create monopolies. Some have time limits, others don’t. With advancements like AI and IoT, new challenges arise regarding protection and ownership. This workshop aims to discuss these issues at a national level to find solutions
