Statement of Requirement
We require an innovation-driven proactive lawyer (3-5 years exp) with prior experience in technology laws and general corporate matters; and working experience in a law firm or the EdTech sector.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating technology contracts, click-wrap agreements, data contracts, product policies and documents on technology and data.
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating organizational policies, corporate governance and management documents, fundraising and exit documents and general contracts.
Conducting legal research and drafting research notes and memos on sector-specific legal and policy frameworks, and answering day-to-day product and policy-related queries.
Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and assisting in the execution of day-to-day legal agreements, MOUs, JVs, SLAs, and SAAS agreements.
Working closely with the management and the founders and facilitating strategic and policy legal decisions on a day-to-day basis. Representing the company in discussions and negotiations with third parties. Coordinating with Government authorities and assisting in making applications for incorporation, statutory registrations and permits, including trademark, copyright, tax exemption, start-up registration, and FCRA, as required from time to time.
Coordinating with Government authorities and assisting in making applications for various tenders, execution of tender documents, review various committee reports and empanelment requirements, as may be required from time to time.
Drafting and filing RTI applications with appropriate government authorities on various corporate law matters, including filing follow-up correspondence and coordination.
Drafting legal notices and/ or replying to legal notices on behalf of the company, as required occasionally. Assisting the management on day-to-day legal matters.

Key Requirements
Qualified to practice law in India (i.e. should have cleared All India Bar Examination)
Strong knowledge of corporate law, intellectual property rights, contracts and information technology
Strong personal integrity and ethical standards

Ability to plan, organize and implement
Ability to deliver a quality output in stressful situations
Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
Experience working in a start-up environment or leading a project

Hands-on experience of working in a corporate law firm or the EdTech sector
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows, Gmail, Dropbox and Skype.
Fluency in written and spoken English, including the ability to type in English.
Open to travel across the country, as and if required.
Excellent legal research and writing skills.
