About the One Stop Centres
Run by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, OSCs are one-stop redressal sites for counseling, medical aid, filing police complaints, etc., for survivors of violence. In 2023, Rana et. al. conducted a needs analysis of OSCs and Shakti Sadans and found that under-reporting of crime against women translates into low resource prioritization for these facilities. There is, however, little understanding of the uptake and the capacity of such redressal schemes to cater to survivors of violence. This study builds on the previous needs analysis, focussing on challenges with institutional redressal of violence against women through OSCs.
