The University of Zagreb, Faculty of Law invites applications for a full-time appointment at the level of Assistant at the Legal Theory Department. The position of Assistant in Legal Theory is primarily a position for young researchers who are applying or have applied for a PhD programme in legal theory.
Job description
- Your key responsibility is to develop and complete a doctoral dissertation in legal theory, preferably in analytical legal theory;
- You help with the preparation of e-courses;
- You participate in the organization of events (guest lectures, conferences);
- You supervise LLB and LLM students;
- You help teachers in conducting seminar classes;
- You help teachers at the Department in conducting exams;
- You participate in joint scientific research with other members of the Department.
Your profile
- You have a Master of Law degree that has been completed with above-average success;
- You can demonstrate your interest in analytical legal theory;
- You are able to work in a research team;
- You are proficient in English, both spoken and written;
- Your effort to learn the Croatian language is expected (applicable to those who do not speak Croatian).
Our offer
- An appointment for 6 years, with a possibility of renewal for a further 4 years;
- A full-time (40 hours per week) position;
- Salary around 1,500.00 EUR net per month (subject to possible changes due to regulatory framework);
- Paid health and pension insurance contributions;
- 4 weeks of paid vacation per year;
- 1,300.00 EUR per year for covering conference attendance expenses;
- Start date: In principle, October 1, 2024.
