National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) Delhi campus is organizing International Seminar on Emerging technologies, Law and Governance on 20-21 June 2024, sponsored by ICSSR.
ABOUT US
The Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science was established in 1972 by the Government of India within the Bureau of Police Research and Development, following recommendations by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Its purpose was to integrate Criminology and Forensic Science into university education. Initially offering training courses for senior officers, it became an independent department under the Ministry of Home Affairs in 1976. Since then, it has trained over 34,000 officers from various sectors and countries and conducted numerous research projects. In 1991, it was upgraded to a National Institute and renamed Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Sciences in 2003.
