The Institute for European, International and Comparative Law has a vacancy for a University Assistant Prae Doc starting October 1, 2024. As a university assistant prae doc, you will support Prof. Matthias Lehmann and his research team in the area of international banking and financial law.
The focus of our research is private international law (conflict of laws), international banking and financial law, as well as international dispute resolution (litigation and arbitration).
The position is initially limited to 1.5 years. It will be automatically extended to a total of 4 years unless the employer submits a declaration of non-renewal after a maximum of 12 months.
Your future tasks:
You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in on legal problems of cross-border banking and finance. This encompasses both private law and regulatory problems.
- You support the head of the team at scientific publications and publish your own research.
- We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
- You work on your dissertation and its completion.
- You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
- You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration, for example
- supervision of students
- organisation of exams

Fair salary: The basic gross salary of EUR 3578,80 (on a full-time basis) is paid 14 times a year! The salary increases if we can credit professional experience.
