CALL FOR INPUTS! “Secretary-General’s Bulletin Special measures for protection from sexual exploitation and sexual abuse”!
We, at the United Nations Office of Special Coordinator for Improving the UN’s Response to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OSCSEA), invite contributions from practitioners, academics, organizations, civil society and others, to review the Secretary-General’s Bulletin on Special measures for protection from sexual exploitation and abuse, ST/SGB/2003/13. This policy document, established in 2003, guides efforts to prevent and address such cases involving UN personnel, serving as a cornerstone for the UN’s response.
Our revision aims to:
➡️ Advance a victim/survivor-centered approach
➡️ Identify policy gaps
➡️ Adopt the most effective approaches
➡️ Align with recent thinking on these issues and UN policy change
➡️ Clarify definitions and application
Your expertise and insights will help ensure transparent and ‘fit for purpose’ policies that properly meet the needs of the people we serve, the organization and its partners! Share suggestions to strengthen the UN’s efforts on protection from sexual exploitation and abuse and the rights and assistance of victims and survivors.
Please submit your inputs/comments by Sunday, 7 July 2024 (midnight EST) more details can be found here
