External Relations Internship

IPI is seeking qualified applicants for a full‐time, five-month paid internship to start in August 2024 as part of IPI’s External Relations Team. This internship position will support the work of the Senior Director of External Relations.

The External Relations Intern will work on select outreach projects and activities under the direction of the Senior Director of External Relations. This position will also support the work of IPI’s resource development team and work with the events team, as well as program staff members, to organize and support select IPI events and meetings. The person in this position will help coordinate the schedule of the Senior Director of External Relations. The position requires an energetic multitasker with related experience and excellent judgment, discretion, attention to details, initiative, and the ability to prioritize. It is imperative and essential that the person in this position has excellent communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, is polite and has a positive disposition when liaising with staff and guests. The intern will gain knowledge and skills from on‐the‐job experience, with IPI staff providing guidance and feedback to facilitate the learning process.

Qualifications

  • BA preferred, but not required;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong organizational skills and an extraordinary attention to detail;
  • Excellent ability to multitask; and
  • Interest in/knowledge of multilateral institutions/international affairs is a plus.

Compensation

The External Relations internship a full‐time position (40 hours a week), paid at a rate of $16.00 per hour.
