Call for Papers! The Asian Yearbook of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law! ISSN: 2452-0578!
Call for Papers – Volume 8 (2024). Special Theme: Human Rights, the Rule of Law and Democratic Accountability.
Deadline: 30 June 2023.
The Editors of the Yearbook invite contributions on how human rights and humanitarian law have been compromised by government regimes that have abandoned or compromised the rule of law and attempted to dilute or obstruct both legal and political accountability. In particular we welcome contributions on how attempts by authoritarian governments to reduce powers of judicial review and to amend or ignore their human rights obligations in both national and international law are threatening the rule of law and effective human rights protection. This could also include attempts to control and punish the press and media and the relationship to government accountability and the rule of law. (8000-15000 words).
