Professionals in law libraries work in a range of environments, including academic law libraries, state and central government law libraries, libraries in courts, government organizations, and in private legal practices. In India, law librarianship is still evolving and is in its infancy. Furthermore, the demand for this profession has skyrocketed due to the emergence of law universities in India and the expansion of comparable legal institutions, such as law firms and para-legal services. Law Librarians worldwide are responsible for engaging, developing, and leading human resources. An effort in this direction is being made by organizing a three-day training program on Law Librarianship at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar.
