Call for Journal: Lymphatic vasculature diversity across tissues

Lymphatic vasculature diversity across tissues

Given its ubiquitous nature, lymphatic vessels play dynamic and multifaceted roles in different tissues, including maintenance of interstitial fluid balance, immunological surveillance, lipid absorption and inflammation. Growing evidence is revealing how the lymphatic vasculature contributes not only to cancer metastasis and congenital disorders such as lymphedema, but also to an unexpected number of different conditions such as cardiovascular disease, neurological disorders, obesity, and inflammatory bowel disease.

In this Collection, the editors of Communications Biology, Nature Communications, and Scientific Reports invite research Articles that aim to highlight the functional heterogeneity and specialization of the lymphatic vasculature across different tissues and organs. We welcome submissions within a broad range of topics such as lymphatic embryonic development, lymphangiogenesis, lymphatic endothelial cell biology and genetics, as well as pathological mechanisms in lymphatic vessels. While we may consider Reviews, Perspectives, and Comments, primary research will be the main priority in this Collection.
