Scientific Reports, Metabolic plasticity
The metabolic system can adapt to different environmental conditions, nutrient availability, and energy demands, showing its plasticity. This adaptability enables cells and organisms to switch between different metabolic pathways, optimizing energy production and substrate utilization. However, dysregulation of metabolic plasticity is associated with various disorders, including obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. Understanding the mechanisms involved in this plasticity holds promise for developing novel therapeutic strategies for metabolic diseases and enhancing health in diverse contexts, such as aging.
The Collection aims to publish original research into the molecular and physiological mechanism underlying metabolic plasticity, as well as strategies targeting metabolism to treat health conditions and enhance wellbeing.
How to submit
To submit your manuscript for consideration at Scientific Reports as part of this Collection, please follow the steps detailed on this page. On the first page of our onlinesubmission system, under “I’m submitting:” select the option “any other article type”. Once logged in you can submit your manuscript to a Collection by selecting “Guest Edited Collection”, under the “Choose the appropriate manuscript type” message, and clicking “Continue”. Then when filling out the manuscript information, select the “Metabolic plasticity” Collection from the alphabetical list on the “Springer Nature Subject Category” tab. Authors should express their interest in the Collection in their cover letter.
Accepted papers are published on a rolling basis as soon as they are ready.
In addition to papers on Metabolic plasticity, Scientific Reports welcomes all original research in the field of Biological sciences. To browse our latest articles in Biological sciences click here.
