Call for Papers: ECOLOGICAL HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES PEDAGOGIES IN HIGHER EDUCATION: THEORY AND PRAXIS PRAXIS

Environmental Humanities and Social Sciences are increasingly being taught in various forms across India and the globe, spanning traditional and interdisciplinary departments. These courses are diverse, reflecting the unique characteristics of the institutions offering them, such as geographical context, the presence of specific communities, rural-urban dynamics, and the ecophilosophical perspectives of instructors. Consequently, the teaching methods employed are equally varied, shaped by these multifaceted influences.

This conference invites papers that theorize and reflect on the practical strategies employed by educators in teaching these ecological subjects. The aim is to compile and disseminate innovative, tried-and-tested pedagogical practices that can serve as exemplary models for educators across institutions. Papers should focus on theoretical frameworks, classroom experiences, and the challenges of engaging students in higher education with ecological materials in meaningful and transformative ways.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Abstracts of no more than 300 words should be submitted in an MS Word document format and emailed to [email protected] by 01 February 2025 for consideration. Contributors will be notified about the acceptance of their abstracts by 08 February 2025. Full papers, not exceeding 15 pages (4000 to 6000 words), should be typed single-spaced on A4 paper, following the MLA Style Sheet (9th Edition), and submitted shortly after the conference concludes. Selected papers will be published as part of a book with a renowned international publisher

Registration

The registration fee includes a conference kit, lunch, tea for two days, and participation in all sessions. Paper Presentation: Rs. 2500 (for faculty) Rs. 1500 (for research scholars)
