Centre for the Study of Social Inclusion (CSSI), Faculty of Social Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi is organizing TEN DAYS RESEARCH METHODOLOGY COURSE FOR Ph.D./PDF SCHOLARS IN SOCIAL SCIENCES who are pursuing their research in Social Sciences including Commerce, Management Economics, Sociology, History, Psychology, Education, Political Science, Law and allied disciplines in a UGC recognized university/deemed university/ colleges/institutes of national importance/ICSSR Research Institutes/ Recognized Institutes. The Course will provide thorough guidance on the paradigm, epistemology, ontology and methodology of both qualitative and quantitative research, the course will also focus on the tools for collecting relevant data, use and analysis of data, library with e-library training. The purpose behind the course is to enhance the capability of conducting quality research among research scholars engaged in various disciplines of Social Sciences and further bring out completed research into publishable material of high quality in the form of journal articles/books. The Research Methodology Course is designed in an interdisciplinary workshop format enabling participants to discuss, debate and raising questions relevant to social sciences, critically evaluate recent trends and handle database, techniques and methods used in contemporary research on the subjects. Special sessions on Field Surveys, Recent Trends Use of AI Tools in Research and SPSS Software will be the highlights of the Course.

Target Participants

The participants should be enrolled for Ph.D./PDF in Social Sciences including Commerce, Management Economics, Sociology, History, Psychology, Education, Political Science, Law and allied disciplines in a UGC recognized university/deemed university/colleges/institutes of national importance/ICSSR Research Institutes/ Recognized Institutes. Participants of ST/SC CATEGORY will be given preference. However, if required numbers of SC/ST Participants does not turn up for the course then registered applicants from OBC, Women, persons with benchmark disability categories, minority will be given preference. Application will be entertained only if it is recommended by the Head of the Department/Institution

How to Apply

 Interested candidates can apply by filling out and submitting an online registration form by attaching a signed and scanned copy of registration form (refer to the last page).

 The original registration form should be produced on the first day of RMC and the scanned copy of registration form shall be mailed to: [email protected]

  • Last Date for Registration: 12 February, 2025
  • Confirmation mail to the participant: 15 February, 2025
  • Applications received after the due date shall not be considered.
