Call for Papers: Special Issue on “Women, Peace, and Security”
India Quarterly, a leading peer-reviewed journal on international affairs, is pleased to announce a special issue on “Women, Peace, and Security,” set to be published in the September 2025 edition. This issue aims to explore the multifaceted role of women in promoting peace, preventing violence, and participating in conflict resolution. We invite authors to contribute original research and articles on the following themes:
1. Feminist perspectives on war and conflict
2. The role of women in conflict resolution and peacebuilding
3. Women’s enrolment in military services and its implications
4. Women and non-traditional security threats, including cybercrime, social media misuse, drugs, and human trafficking
5. Inclusion of women in extremist and terrorist organizations
6. Global public health and its impact on women
7. Women and the challenges of the climate change crisis
8. The relevance of UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) We also welcome submissions from a critical theory perspective on women, peace, and security on related themes that align with the scope of this special issue. We particularly encourage interdisciplinary approaches and case studies that highlight innovative practices and lessons learned.
Submission Guidelines:
• Length: The word limit of manuscripts is 8000 words, inclusive of endnotes and references.
