Socio-Legal Review of Marginalised Sections is inviting submissions for its Volume 1, Issue 2
through a call for papers.
About SLRMS
The Socio-Legal Review of Marginalised Sections (SLRMS) is a peer-reviewed, biannual
journal dedicated to fostering critical dialogue on issues affecting marginalised communities.
We are committed to addressing the socio-legal challenges experienced by various groups,
irrespective of caste, creed, religion, gender, or sex.
SLRMS is committed to publishing research that goes beyond a purely doctrinal
understanding of the law. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary scholarship that critically
examines the intersections between law and the social sciences, with a particular emphasis on
South Asia and the broader global context. We invite submissions from diverse academic
disciplines that engage with legal studies, including but not limited to:
Themes:
1. Borders and Belonging: Statelessness and Refugee Rights
2. Technology, Surveillance, and Marginalised Communities
3. Environmental Justice and Indigenous Rights
4. Carceral State and Criminalisation of Poverty
5. Gender, Sexuality, and Intersectionality in Marginalised Spaces
Submissions Guidelines:-
Abstract:-
1. The SLRMS is open for students, academicians, doctoral students and research
scholars.
2. Co-authorship is allowed for up to three authors.
3. Abstracts must be between 250-300 words..
4. All abstracts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc/.docx).
5. The submission deadline for abstracts is March 05, 2025
6. Authors will be notified of abstract acceptance via email by March 10, 2025.
Manuscript:-
1. Only shortlisted abstracts will be invited for full paper submission.
2. Manuscripts must strictly follow the 4th edition of the Oxford University Standard for
the Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA).
3. Non-compliance with citation guidelines may result in rejection.
4. The body text must be in Times New Roman, font size 12, with line spacing of 1.5.
5. Footnotes must be in Times New Roman, font size 10, with single-line spacing.
6. Full papers must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc/.docx).
7. Manuscripts must not contain any identifying information to ensure a blind review
process.
8. Submissions must not have been previously published elsewhere.
9. All submissions must be original and unpublished.
10. Plagiarism in any form will lead to immediate disqualification.

Notification of Abstract Acceptance: March 10, 2025
Full Paper Submission Deadline: April 05, 2025(11:59 PM IST)
Notification of Manuscript Decisions: April 19, 2025
Submission Categories:
The submissions could fall under any of the following categories:
1. Long Articles – Between 6,000 – 8,000 words.
2. Short Articles – Between 3,500 – 5,000 words.
3. Book Reviews – Between 2,000 – 3,000 words.
4. Case Notes/Legislative Comments – Between 1,500 – 2,500 words.
