Call for Applications: ICMPD International Summer School on Migration, 29 June to 5 July 2025
From 29 June to 5 July 2025 the 12th International Summer School on Migration will take place in Armenia. The ICMPD Summer School is a collaborative effort among the EU-funded “Strengthening Development Impact of Migration in Georgia” (STREAMinG 2) project, and the Prague Process, with all two initiatives led by ICMPD.
The Summer School aims to facilitate critical academic exchange and reflection on migration issues. International academic experts from the Migration Observatory at the University of Oxford, the University of Sussex, the Free University Amsterdam, the Maastricht University Graduate School of Governance, and ICMPD will lecture and mentor students. They will cover a range of topics, including introduction to migration studies, migration and development, migration and the economy, perception of migrants and media and migration, integration of migrants, migration law, and human rights.
Up to 35 students from migration studies, journalism/media studies, international/migration law, economics, demography, history and/or social and political sciences can take part in the summer school. Young professionals working on migration issues are strongly encouraged to apply as well.
Citizens from Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine are eligible to apply. Some spots will be available for nationals of these countries living in the EU.
The Summer School is free of charge for the participants. All participants will receive board and lodge free of charge. Travel costs will be covered and arranged by ICMPD.
The deadline for applications is 8 May 2025.
The Summer School selection procedure will be completed until 24 May 2025. Only selected candidates will be contacted. Due to the high number of applicants, please refrain from contacting the ICMPD selection team with individual requests.
