Rheumatoid arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease that cause chronic inflammation and joint damage. Immune cells mistakenly attack the synovial tissue, leading to pain, swelling, and progressive joint destruction. Research explores genetic, environmental, and hormonal factors contributing to the disease, which drive the inflammation. Understanding these mechanisms has led to the development of targeted therapies, such as biologics and disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), aimed at controlling symptoms and slowing disease progression.
This Collection seeks original research with the aim to improve treatments, enhance early diagnosis, and uncover potential strategies for prevention of RA.
