Call for Papers: 2026 ISA Conference, Deadline 1st June, 2025
ISA’s 67th Annual Convention Columbus, Ohio, USA • March 22nd – 25th, 2026
The world, it seems, is undergoing multiple crises of governance, institutions, aesthetics, morality, and ecology.
These are manifest, for instance, in the inability of the United Nations, its member states, and dependent or auxiliary international organizations and institutions to function to the satisfaction of the world. This ineffectiveness is especially bleak given the rising tide of wars and related forms of violence; climate change and pending ecological disaster; militarization and militarism; authoritarianism and fascism; racism and nativism; religious extremism; patriarchy, the decline of democratic culture and the declining capacities of states to meet the citizens’ material, moral, and symbolic needs. The scope and scale of these crises are causing many to ask an essential question: Are leaders and students of international relations intellectually able to bring the collective ‘us’ to the fundamentals of international existence in ways relevant to present predicaments and quandaries.
