CALL FOR PAPERS: SYMPOSIUM: TERRITORY IN INTERNATIONAL LAW, HAGUE YEARBOOK OF INTERNATIONAL LAW, VOLUME 39
The Hague Yearbook of International Law invites original articles on the broadly defined topic: What is a territory under international law? The articles could be theoretical in nature or focus on a particular practical problem. Potential topics include:
• Philosophical underpinnings of the concept of territory in international law;
• Extraterritorial jurisdiction and the effective control doctrine;
• The concept of territory in jus ad bellum; • The concept of territory in jus in bello;
• The concept of territory in international economic law;
• The concept of territory in international human rights law;
• Territory and climate change;
• The principle of territorial integrity.
Paper proposals should be 600 words in length, and we ask authors to provide a brief biography (max 150 words) indicating their expertise on the topic proposed.
Proposals should be submitted to [email protected] by 30 June 2025. We aim to contact authors with a decision by the end of July 2025.
