The organisers, Dr Sanna Elfving and Dr Ilias Kapsis, invite submissions of paper abstracts for the workshop ‘Redefining EU Law for a Volatile and Uncertain World’ to be held at the City Law School, City St George’s, University of London on 26 June 2025. This conference is organised by the EU and Competition Law Section of SLS and is supported by the Society of Legal Scholars (SLS) and the Institute for the Study of European Law at the City Law School.
We encourage contributions from researchers across all career stages, including early-career researchers (ECRs) and doctoral researchers. The workshop aims to support the development of links and networks among scholars and offer opportunities for interaction with more established scholars to ECRs and doctoral researchers. We hope to attract speakers and papers covering a broad spectrum of EU and Competition Law and representing diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
We welcome abstract submissions (maximum 300 words) for papers that engage with one of the following legal topics:
• Competitiveness of the EU
• Sustainability
• Gender equality
• External relations
• Respect for EU’s core values
Those interested in presenting their work should submit their abstracts (up to 300 words and a short bio) by email to [email protected] copying in [email protected] by Wednesday, 7 May 2025, at 23:59 (UK time), using the subject line ‘EU law workshop’. Be sure to include your name, affiliation, and contact information in your submission. We aim to get back to authors whose papers have been accepted within one to two weeks after the deadline for submission.
