About Jammu and Kashmir Judicial Academy

Jammu and Kashmir Judicial Academy holds the rare distinction of being one of the oldest Judicial Academies in India. Though it was not formally established and did not have the regular infrastructure it continued to function on a need basis. It first started functioning in the year 1973 as Jammu and Kashmir Judicial Officers’ Training Institute, under the leadership of the great visionary Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, of the time Sh. Murtaza Fazal Ali.

About the Opportunity

Applications are invited for the temporary engagement of Research Assistant for a period of one year in the J&K Judicial Academy, High Court of J&K and Ladakh.

Eligibility

The candidate must be a Domicile of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in terms of S.O. 166 dated 18-05-2020 issued by GAD, Government of Jammu and Kashmir or must be a resident of Union Territory of Ladakh for a period of not less than 15 years before the date of applying and is actually resident of the area.
The candidate must be a Law Graduate (as of the date of appearing at the interview) having a Bachelor’s degree in Law (including an Integrated Degree Course in Law) from any school/College/University/Institute established by Law in India and recognized by the Bar Council of India for enrolment as an Advocate, possessing a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate at Law Graduation (including Integrated Degree Course in Law) and should not have completed two years after enrollment as an Advocate.
The candidate studying in the final year/last semester of three years Law Course/Five-year Integrated Law Course will also be eligible to apply subject to furnishing proof of acquiring the Law degree qualification with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate at the time of interview.
The candidate must have some knowledge of Computers including retrieval of desired information from various search engines/processes such as Manuptra, SCC Online, LexisNexis, Westlaw etc.
The candidate must have absolute integrity, honesty and good moral character, for which he/she will submit a certificate of two responsible persons at the time of the interview.
