About Dr. R.K.B. Law College
The Rohini Kanta Barua Law College was established in the year 1976 as an outcome of a public meeting of the citizens of Dibrugarh held on 20/06/1976 with Shri Pramod Kumar Das, B.L. in the chair as ‘Dibrugarh Law College’ with the objective ‘to create a new avenue at Dibrugarh for imparting legal education’.
The College is situated in the heart of Dibrugarh town and is permanently affiliated with Dibrugarh University and approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi.
About the Opportunity
The competition is expected to provide the students with an opportunity to learn about the recent developments in the fields of IPR and Business Law. Further, it is also expected to encourage the development of research and writing skills among young minds in the profession of law.
Theme
The participants are free to write on any topic that is relevant to contemporary developments in the field of IPR or Business Law. Preferences might be given to those articles that are based either on the developments in the international aspects or on a comparative analysis of such developments between India and other nations. However, articles shall successfully establish linkages with either IPR or Business Laws or with both.
Eligibility
Any student from UGC-recognized institutions pursuing 3 years or 5 years of LLB courses or 1
a year or 2 years of LLM courses, or M. Phil or Ph.D. Programs or students from any discipline having knowledge of the subject matter can participate in this competition. Even students from foreign institutions are also allowed.

Submission Guidelines
- All participants are required to register before making any submission;
- Submissions from registered participants shall only be considered;
- Before submission, a valid institutional id proof is required;
- Co-authorship for each submission is limited to 2 Co-authors;
- Each participant is allowed to make only one submission;
- The submissions must be through Google Forms;
- In the case of articles with 2 Co-authors, only one author shall make the submission;
- The articles shall not include the name of the authors, institutions, or any personal details;
- The articles shall be submitted only in a Word document;
Formatting Guidelines
- Each article shall contain a Title that shall be written in Times New Roman, Font Size 12, and Central Alignment, bold and in Capital with 1.5 line spacing;
- The Level 1 heading shall be in bold, justly aligned, 12 font size, times new roman with 1.5 line spacing;
- The level 2 headings shall be in bold, italics, justified aligned, 12 font size, times new roman with 1.5 line spacing;
- The level 3 heading shall be in italics, justly aligned, 12 font size, times new roman with 1.5 line spacing;
- The body of the article shall be in times new roman, font size 12, and justly aligned with 1.5 line spacing;
- The footnotes shall be in times new roman, font size 10 with single line spacing and justified aligned;
- OSCOLA 4th edition shall be used for footnotes and no other format is allowed whatsoever.
- SUBMITTING PROCESS
- Interested applicants may submit their article through the link provided at the end of the post.
- Rules & Regulations
- Each article shall contain an abstract of not more than 250 words and 4 – 5 keywords;
- The articles shall not be more than 3,000 words excluding footnotes, abstracts, and keywords;
- Speaking footnotes are allowed however notes made in the footnotes shall have synergies with
the actual text and in no case the number of words shall be more than 25% of the number of
words in the actual text of the articles; - The articles shall be the original work of the authors and the same shall not be under consideration for publication anywhere else. The permissible similarity index is less than 10%;
- No defamatory statements shall be made and no comments on cases pending before any court
of law shall be made; - The copyright of each article after submission shall be transferred immediately to Dr. R.K.B. Law
- College, Dibrugarh, Assam who shall have full authority to publish such article in any form, and at
any platform; - The decision of the judges shall be final and the organizers are not responsible to entertain any
the dispute among the participants. - Important Dates

- Blind Peer Review Process based on the highest marks obtained in the following categories:
- Adherence to Formatting Guidelines (including footnotes and style of writing): 15 Marks
- Relevancy of the Topic to the Contemporary Society and Literature: 20 Marks
- Content Analysis: 20 Marks
- Grammar and use of vocabulary: 15 Marks
- Command over the subject matter and the depth of the research: 20 Marks
- Continuity and flow of writing: 10 Marks
- Total: 100 Marks
Prizes
- Best Paper: INR: 3,000
- Runners-up: INR: 1,500
- Second Runners-up: INR: 500
- E-certificates will be provided to all the winners and the participants.
- In addition to the above, prizes the top 10 papers would be published for free in the Annual International Journal on Intellectual Property and Corporate Affairs (AIJIPCA) published by Dr. RKB Law College and supported by Nowgong Law College and Aequitas Victoria Foundation.
