Call for Paper in Digital Society Journal published by Springer Nature Group
Nowadays, the theme “Digital Market, Competition and Consumers” is a current topic of discussion. As the DMA entered into force, the gatekeepers have to comply with the do’s (i.e. obligations) and don’ts (i.e. prohibitions).
This Call for Paper, where I serve as a Guest Editor, aims to foster a debate on the rationale and the necessity for regulating Big Tech companies’ behaviour in the digital market and the role of consumers in digital market.
The call for paper welcomes articles, reviews, and brief communications in the following areas:
– the goals of competition law in the digital market;
– the (non) necessity of a regulatory framework at the national level or at EU level;
– analyses of legislative initiative at national level or the recent Regulation on contestable and fair markets in the digital sector (Digital Markets Act DMA);
– measuring consumer harm in the digital market;
– the role of consumers in the digital market;
– how to strengthen consumer protection and competition in the digital economy; and
– platform regulation, gatekeepers, fairness and contestability.
Digital Society publishes articles on topics related to governance, transformations, environments, and developments of digital technology and their implications for society. Many thanks to the Editor-in-Chief Federica Russo for the opportunity to be a Guest Editor in special issue.
