Awarded as the “Top Law School” by Forbes India Legal Power list 2020, the programmes o ered by the Faculty of Law focuses on a multi-disciplinary approach together with innovative pedagogy. This prepares students for their legal profession since the inception of their graduation. This includes compulsory research paper in each subject, eight credit-based compulsory internships along with Expert Lectures as well as experience-sharing by Judges, Lawyers and Partners of reputed Law Firms. Our Faculty has recently been featured in Top 5 Law Colleges (Public & Private) in West Zone by Careers360 Magazine. Our international collaborations include Two Erasmus plus Projects (with the education vertical of European Union), amounting to INR 1.5 Cr wherein we have the honor of being one of the only Two Law Institutes in India to receive this prestigious grant.
ABOUT PRO BONO CLUB, FOL
Faculty of Law, Marwadi University, received the approval from the Department of Justice, Govt. of India to establish a Pro Bono Club in the academic year 2023-24. Pro Bono Club (PB Club) Scheme has been conceptualized by the Department of Justice, Govt. of India to strengthen the existing pro bono programme by integrating law schools and students within its fold. The primary objective of this scheme is to improve the e ciency and quality of pro bono legal services by providing assistance to pro bono advocates through competent law students.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Faculty of Law, Marwadi University, Rajkot is organizing 2-day o ine/ in-person workshop on “Clinical Legal Education: Training the Trainers” for Academicians and Professionals (on 06-07 January 2024). Clinical Legal Education (CLE) is an approach to legal education that emphasizes hands-on learning through real-world experiences. This workshop on “Clinical Legal Education: Training the Trainers” aims to provide a platform for legal educators to discuss and explore the current issues and challenges faced in Clinical Legal Education, and to identify future directions and opportunities. There is visible lack of CLE in the State of Gujarat and the traditional universities teaching Law, do not have trained faculties or the necessary infrastructure to impart such a training, therefore, this CLE two days’ training for teacher programmes in Gujarat can help to bridge the gap between legal education and the legal profession. The workshop emphasizes on the practical training aspect rather than focusing on just the theoretical aspects of CLE.
