Salary

Grade J in the range £41,732 – £46,974, or

Grade K in the range £48,350 – £54,395, or 

Grade L in the range £57,696 – £64,914 per annum

The role

The successful applicant will contribute fully to the life of the School and Faculty through teaching on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, as well as supervising research students, and producing high quality research leading to publications and, where possible, impact beyond the academy.

What will you be doing?

The School seeks to recruit Lecturer(s) or Senior Lecturer(s) in Law who combines a strong research record with the proven ability to deliver the highest standards of legal education to join our thriving academic community. Embracing excellence in all its forms, the School welcomes applications from those with relevant experience of effective teaching and research in the areas of Corporate Governance, Company Law, Commercial Law, Financial Services Law, Criminal Procedure and Evidence, Banking Law, Family Law, or Corporate Finance. The successful candidates will also be expected to offer the ability to teach at least one foundational subject (contract, tort, criminal, public, EU, land or trusts).

You should apply if

You should have research and/or teaching expertise in the areas of Corporate Governance, Company Law, Commercial Law, Financial Services Law, Criminal Procedure and Evidence, Banking Law, Family Law, or Corporate Finance. You should have a completed PhD in law or equivalent, or be close to completion by the post start date and have a strong honours degree at undergraduate level in law or a law-related subject or equivalent. You should also have strong track record of published research of 3* or 4* quality measured by REF2021 standards (for level c and d) or at least the evidenced potential to produce it; as well as a planned trajectory of high-quality publications over a significant period; experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, or equivalent practical experience; evidence of broad knowledge and deep expertise in your area(s) of scholarship; demonstrable ability to carry out academic administrative duties effectively; and excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and accessibly.
