Call for Applications! for Summer School on International Criminal Law: From Theory To Practice!

Organized by the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies, this programme enables students and professionals from all over the world to engage in discussions on the prospects and challenges of international criminal justice. Registration is now open!

Course information

Students will be immersed in the field through lectures and exercises dealing with all aspects of International Criminal Law, from substantive crimes (genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and aggression) to complementarity, modes of liability, the rights of the accused and the role of victims. Throughout the two weeks, the participants will also explore the City of Peace and Justice and will visit a number of international institutions, such as the International Criminal Court.

This course offers a unique opportunity to learn from influential and well-known academics from Leiden University and practitioners from the International Courts and Tribunals in The Hague. You will gain first-hand knowledge on international criminal law in the heart of the International City of Peace and Justice. Target audience

This summer school is aimed at law students (who have completed at least one year of their degree), young graduates and professionals with a background in law.

Class size 

A maximum of 80 participants will be admitted to this course.
