Call for Papers! 2024 Lisbon Climate Conference – Human Rights and Climate Change! CATÓLICA RESEARCH CENTRE FOR THE FUTURE OF LAW!
This methodology of using the human rights grammar and institutions to pursuit climate justice is also visible at the international level, and recent decisions such as La Oroya (IACtHR) or Verein KlimaSeniorinnen (ECtHR) confirm that climate litigation before human rights bodies is here to stay — and will likely develop also against corporations (although before different courts and bodies).
2024 edition of ‘The Lisbon Climate Conference’ (which is co-organized by Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Università di Torino, and Koç Üniversitesi, members of the Law Schools Global League) aims to discuss what are the implications of recent decisions on these and other topics, as well as what can be foreseen as the next cases and breakthroughs.
