The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) invites applications for a full-time role in the University’s People and Culture Office for a period of one year.

About the Department

The People and Culture team at National Law School of India University manages all aspects of human resources. The department is responsible for creating, managing and continuously refreshing processes and policies across the employee life cycle. The focus of the department is to build a HR framework that creates an enabling environment for our employees to work towards the goals and objectives of the University, together.

About the Role

We are looking for a bright, curious, and enthusiastic team member who is willing to learn and collaborate with the team on all aspects of the employee lifecycle.  This is a full-time role based out of the NLSIU campus in Bengaluru.

The role includes but is not limited to:

  1. Facilitating, and implementing all phases of the recruitment process for the University with a focus on process, consistency, and scalability.
  2. Working with the University’s departments/centres in the capacity of a people business partner and understanding their hiring requirements.
  3. Drafting detailed and accurate job descriptions and specifications.
  4. Leading end-to-end talent acquisition efforts for a set of roles assigned to you (managing application tracking system, posting jobs, sourcing candidates, screening high potential candidates, interviewing, coordinating interviews with other panelists, rolling out offers, etc.)
  5. Screening applications to select/shortlist qualified candidates.
  6. Planning, managing, and anchoring the interview process.
  7. Collaborating with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  8. Collating necessary paperwork for new hires.
  9. Provides timely recruitment reports to the team manager and the onboarding team.
  10. Responding to recruitment and onboarding-related emails in a timely manner.
  11. Creating the first draft of policies and process notes.
  12. Working on any other aspect of the employee life cycle like performance management and training and development, with a focus on documentation and execution.

Who Should Apply?

Qualifications 

Essential – Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.

Desirable – Master’s degree/post-graduate diploma in Human Resources/Business Management or a related discipline.

Experience

Desirable – 1-3 years of experience in a process-oriented role or an HR related role.

Skills and competencies

Essential

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong execution rigor and operational skills.
  • Strong presentation and time management kills.

Desirable

  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Prior experience in the HR domain.
  • Proficient with applicant-tracking software.
  • Knowledge of HRMS.

Competencies

  • Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of recruitment activities and manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • An appreciation for processes and workflows.
  • Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to work effectively and constructively as part of a team.
