ABOUT DR. D.Y. PATIL LAW COLLEGE, PIMPRI, PUNE

Dr. D.Y. Patil Law College, Pimpri, was established in 2001 under the esteemed patronage of Dr. P.D. Patil, Chairman of Dr. D.Y. Patil Unitech Society. The college is affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University and is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra and the Bar Council of India. Set on a picturesque campus in Pimpri, Pune, our institution stands as one of the premier law schools in the region. Our college offers comprehensive degree programs including the 3-year Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and the 5-year integrated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (B.A.LL.B), both affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University. In addition to these, we provide specialized diploma programs in Taxation Laws, Labour Laws, and Cyber Laws.

Competition Themes

The theme for this year’s competition is “Constitutional Democracy in Crisis: Navigating Challenges of the 21st Century.” Participants are invited to engage with various pressing issues facing India’s constitutional democracy in the modern era.

Sub- themes include:

1.Erosion Governance of Democratic Institutions: Challenges to Constitutional

2.The Role of Judiciary in Safeguarding Constitutional Democracy

3.Balancing Individual Rights with National Security in the 21st Century

4.Media Freedom and Its Role in a Constitutional Democracy

5.The Impact of Technology on Democratic Processes and Constitutional Rights

Call for Submissions

Essays on the theme “Constitutional Democracy in Crisis: Navigating Challenges of the 21st Century” and the corresponding sub-themes are invited from students in the fields of Law, Criminology, Public Administration, Sociology, and related disciplines. Participants are encouraged to engage critically with the challenges and dynamics affecting constitutional democracy in the 21st century, drawing insights from their academic backgrounds and areas of expertise.
