Open Call for Submissions: Volume 28 of the Max Planck Yearbook of United Nations Law (2025)!
The Max Planck Yearbook of United Nations Law (UNYB) is preparing its next edition, Volume 28, scheduled for publication in 2025.
In addition to the special forum of articles on Challenges and Opportunities for the Law of the Sea at a Time of Crisis, Volume 28 of the UNYB will also feature selected articles that align with the general editorial line of the publication. This includes articles related to the ‘Law and Practice of the United Nations’ and ‘Legal Issues Related to the Goals of the United Nations’.
Submission Guidelines:
We invite interested authors to submit an abstract proposal of no more than 500 words by 1 December 2024. In your abstract submission, please include: i) the working title; ii) the main legal arguments to be developed in the article; and iii) a brief explanation of how the topic fits within the scope of the UNYB. Please submit your proposal in a Word document, along with a short bio (max. 100 words) in the cover letter delivered by email to [email protected].
The usual length of an article featured in the Yearbook is between 8,000 and 14,000 words. Following a positive assessment of their abstract proposal, authors will be instructed to submit a full draft of their manuscript by 1 February 2025, which will then be placed through our double-blind peer-review process, prior to any final decision on publishability.
