Call for Papers: Eighth IP & Innovation Researchers of Asia (IPIRA) Conference, 29-30 January 2026

The IP & Innovation Researchers of Asia (IPIRA) Network is delighted to announce the Eighth IP & Innovation Researchers of Asia (IPIRA) Conference, which will be held in-person on 29-30 January 2026 at Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) in Singapore.

The Eighth IPIRA Conference is organized by the IPIRA Network and Singapore University of Social Sciences in cooperation with the Organizers of the previous editions of the Conference: the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia; the Division of Business Law, Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological UniversityForeign Trade University; the Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia; the Faculty of Law, Waseda University; Texas A&M University School of Law; and the Faculty of Law, University of Geneva.

The Conference will also be supported by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the World Trade Organization (WTO), as well as the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS).

As in previous years, distinguished academics from across the Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa, and the Americas will serve on the Scientific Committee of the Conference, reflecting the IPIRA Network’s mission to foster worldwide interactions between IP and Innovation researchers.

Submissions

We invite academic researchers, including Ph.D. candidates, to submit proposals to present at the Eighth IPIRA Conference by completing this Online Submission to Present Form

The Organizers welcome submissions from scholars at all stages of their academic careers, with a focus on IP and Innovation-related topics in Asian Law, Comparative Law, and International Law, as well as scholars interested in IP and Innovation from various interdisciplinary perspectives.

Applicants must be affiliated with an academic institution or organization with a research institute or academy. Applications from students, including LL.M. students, will not be accepted.

**Note that ONLY ONE SUBMISSION per author is allowed. This includes joint-author submissions, meaning that any joint-authored submissions will count as “one submission” for each author listed in the submission. We regret having to limit the number of submissions by each author, but this is necessary due to the large volume of submissions and to ensure a broad range of presenters.

Deadlines for Submission and Notification of Acceptance

The deadline to submit a request to present is 20 October 2025. *Early submissions are strongly encouraged.

The Organizers will notify accepted participants by 31 October 2025.

Accepted participants will be asked to confirm their participation no later than 12 November 2025 to allow sufficient time to finalize the Conference program.

The final Conference program will be released in the first week of January 2026.
