Call for Papers: Redefining Legal Education in the Age of AI: Transforming Curricula for the Future of Law, Abstracts Due- 28 February 2026

ABOUT THE BOOK

Artificial Intelligence (Al) is rapidly reshaping the legal profession, transforming legal
research, practice management, dispute resolution, judicial processes, and legal service
delivery. These changes demand a renewed, future-oriented approach to how law is
taught, learned, and conceptualised within higher education.

This edited volume responds to this emerging global and local need by exploring how Al can
drive meaningful curriculum transformation in South African and international law schools.
It seeks to provide educators, practitioners, and policymakers with conceptual tools, case
studies, and practical frameworks to redesign legal curricula fit for the age of Al.

The book will blend theoretical insights, empirical analyses, case-based illustrations, and
practical innovations to guide curriculum developers, academics, and legal professionals.
Contributions should critically reflect on how legal education can prepare current and
future lawyers for Al-enabled legal systems while remaining contextually grounded,
ethically informed, and socially responsive.
