Call for Proposals: for 16th Annual Gender, Work & Organization Annual Conference 2026, Abstract Submissions: 01 March 2026
The Gender, Work & Organization community warmly invites scholars across disciplines to submit stream proposals for the 16th Annual GWO Conference, hosted at Nazarbayev University in the heart of Eurasia.
This year’s theme — Voices at the Margins: Rethinking Gender, Labor, and Belonging — calls us to reimagine what counts as knowledge, whose experiences shape theory, and how gendered forms of labor and survival are produced under conditions of precarity, displacement, coloniality, and social transformation.
We welcome stream proposals that offer bold, inclusive, intersectional, feminist, and decolonial perspectives.
Themes of Interest
We encourage proposals that engage with, but are not limited to:
- Gendered labor, care, and precarity in contexts of conflict, displacement, caste, climate crisis, migration, or digital economies
- Feminist, postcolonial, and decolonial frameworks for understanding work, identity, and belonging
- Indigenous, ancestral, or community-based knowledge systems and their significance for organizations
- Epistemic justice and knowledge production from marginalized positions
- Gender, work, and organization in post-socialist, Central Asian, and Global South contexts
- Neurodivergence and gender dynamics in organizational contexts
- Art, storytelling, visual and creative methods as feminist inquiry
- Resistance economies, cooperative labor, and alternative futures of organizing
- Gendered citizenship, state power, and social policy
- Alternative epistemologies and ontologies in gender and work studies
We welcome interdisciplinary approaches, including sociology, management, anthropology, history, cultural studies, political economy, gender studies, and critical humanities.
