This Collection invites research that elucidates the sources and pathways of soil pollution and proposes effective and sustainable remediation strategies to mitigate risks and ensure ecosystem health and human well-being.
Soil is the homes that support diverse microbial, flora and faunal communities, unfortunately, have been compromised by various contaminants with heavy metals posing a significant threat to environmental and human health. The issue is further complicated by emerging concerns such as microplastics and antibiotic resistance, which can interact with heavy metals and exacerbate their effects.
