Call for Papers: Asian Economic Development Conference 2027, 1-2 July 2027

We invite submissions of unpublished empirical analyses, survey articles, economic modelling, and policy-oriented research on a broad range of topics in development economics, including, but not limited to:
- Agriculture and Rural Development: food security, agricultural productivity, and market dynamics
- Health and Education: access to health care and education, aging populations, youth and demographic transitions
- Labor: skills development, future of work, job security and quality, and labor productivity
- Gender: income and opportunity gaps, and gender empowerment
- Poverty, Inequality, and Welfare: income gaps, income shocks, social safety nets, MSMEs, intra-household dynamics, and social development
- Climate Change and Environment: mitigation and adaptation, natural capital, sustainable development, net-zero transition, carbon pricing, energy transition, and natural disasters
- Macroeconomics and Finance: economic growth, capital markets, sustainable finance, inflation, macroeconomic and financial stability, fiscal and monetary policy
- Regional Cooperation and Economic Integration: trade, economic and financial integration, global value chains, migration, capital flows, and cross-border investment
- Infrastructure: energy, transport, water, urban development, and quality infrastructure
- Digital Economy, Data and Innovation: digital transformation, technology and innovation, entrepreneurship, digital currencies and assets, data science
- Domestic Resource Mobilization and Governance: public finance, debt sustainability, public management, institutional quality, and taxation
- Private Sector Development and Industrial Policy: firm dynamics, entrepreneurship, value chains, and innovation in SMEs
- Behavioral and Experimental Methods: RCTs, field and lab experiments, impact evaluations, behavioral insights and nudges
- Long-run Development and Economic History: economic institutions, deep roots, industrialization.
Interested authors shall register here to submit papers by 15 January 2027, 11:59 PM (UTC+8). Only completed papers accompanied by an abstract will be considered for evaluation. Submissions will be evaluated based on originality, analytical rigor, and policy relevance within the Asian context. Decisions on paper selection will be announced in March and April 2027.
Authors of accepted papers may be invited to submit their work for publication in a Mini Symposium in the Asian Development Review(ADR).
