The Indian Network for Clinical Legal Education
The Indian Network for Clinical Legal Education (INCLE) is a noteworthy initiative that is working towards bridging the gap between legal theory and practice by promoting experiential learning and social justice in legal education. Founded in 2019 by Knowledge Steez, INCLE is a national network of law schools, legal aid clinics and civil society organizations; dedicated to empower the next generation of lawyers and professors to become socially conscious and effective agents of change.
One of the key ways in which INCLE works on it’s mission is by providing students the opportunities to engage in practical legal work. Through this approach students conduct legal research, and advocate for social change. By doing so, they gain practical experience and develop the skills and knowledge they need to become effective legal practitioners.
INCLE’s efforts to promote clinical legal education have not gone unnoticed. The organization has a track record of organizing events that promote knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and innovation. Its Faculty Development Program (FDP) and international conferences on clinical legal education have brought together legal educators, practitioners, and students from around the world to exchange ideas and discuss best practices. These events have provided a valuable platform for participants to deepen their understanding of clinical legal education, share their experiences, and develop new strategies for advancing the cause of social justice.
Through it’s initiatives, INCLE aims to change the discourse of clinical legal education in India and has also helped to build a community of legal educators and practitioners who are dedicated to promote experiential learning and social justice in legal education. It’s commitment to steadfast advance the field of clinical legal education is consistent and INCLE strives to create a positive impact on legal education in India.
It is exciting news that INCLE is organizing the 2nd International Virtual Conference on Clinical Legal Education, Legal Aid & Human Rights in 2023. This event promises to be a valuable platform for legal educators, practitioners, and students from around the world to come together and exchange ideas, discuss best practices, and explore emerging trends in the field of clinical legal education.
