Scopus Call or papers – Special Issue on Energy conservation solutions: from theory to practice

Global energy consumption increased dramatically in the past decades, to which maintaining comfortable and healthy built environment attributed significantly. To mitigate the risks of resource depletion, environmental pollution and global warming, energy conservation has become one of the main themes for sustainable development.

This Special Issue is open for all participators with theories, methods and practices toward net (nearly) zero energy consumption and low carbon emissions in built environment. Papers about how to improve the simulation or prediction accuracy of energy consumption are also acceptable. Potential topics are included but not limited to:

  • Solutions to construct efficient HVA&C systems
  • Renewable energy sources and their applications
  • Energy storage technologies
  • Management and operation to achieve smart/intelligent buildings and cities.
  • Construction for sustainable and comfortable built environment

Most of the papers are anticipated to come from the 2nt International Chinese Conference on Energy and Built Environment, which will be held in Chengdu, China, from 16 to 19 July 2021. For this conference, energy conservation in built environment construction is one of the primary themes. We have seen many “theoretical” ideas and studies (especially in various simulations and modellings) in the field. It is time to check and advocate the transformation of fundamental studies into practices (at least the implications to the application). As a result, all the papers to this SI will REQUIRE some sort of own field verification/application (not from literatures).

Submission Guidelines

Only original manuscripts can be submitted, according to the “Guide for Authors” published on the Energy and Buildings website https://www.journals.elsevier.com/energy-and-buildings. As regards the online submission system of Energy and Buildings, the authors are invited to follow the link “Submit your Paper”, located in the main page of the Journal website, and submit manuscript to Article Type “VSI: Energy Conservation” in Energy and Buildings.

Please mention the name of the Special Issue in your cover letter. All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the journal. The final papers will be selected for publication depending on the results of the peer review process and the reviews of the Guest Editors.
