ABOUT SCHOOL OF LAW
The School of Law at Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun is running two full-time five-year programs i.e. B.B.A.- LL.B.& B.A.-LL.B. approved by the Bar Council of India along with LL.M. and Ph.D. in law. The School of Law envisions
achieving supremacy in legal education through innovative teaching, experiential learning, creative inquiry, social awareness, and research, along with industry-oriented curriculum and training students through rigorous research, moot court competitions, classroom discussions on case laws, and a variety of internships with Supreme Court judges, top law firms and senior advocates.
CONCEPT NOTE
Teaching Pedagogy has undergone several changes since the ancient ages. From attending the Ashrams of Gurus to attending modern-day schools, from studying religious texts and warfare to studying science, arts, and commerce, etc., the transition has been slow and gradual. These changes are attributed to the development of society and mankind. Another pertinent fact about these changes is that none of them were unforeseen by the stakeholders, however, in 2020, the entire world was hit by the wrath of the COVID-19 pandemic, and India was subjected to a nationwide lockdown.
The lockdown affected all aspects of life, which includes education at large. In India, Schools, Colleges and other educational institutions were using the traditional-cum-modern approach of teaching which revolved around the concept of physical teaching. The use of the Internet was limited to research and Research Centers; however, the pandemic forced the Indian Education System to adopt the online teaching methodology, which is an unprecedented move in the history of the Indian Education System. Teachers had to undergo intense training to get habitual to the new system. In this quest, teachers faced several technical barriers, which were gradually overcome by them. The essence of this change is that, it has modified the very concept of teaching, internet had always been considered as a substitute for physical teaching, however, this pandemic has made everyone realize that it is the time to finally adopt a hybrid approach, so that the transition between both the modes i.e. online and offline, is not as drastic as it was in the past one year.
