Certificate Course on Data Protection Law by Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur

With the growth of the digital age, there is a subtle but consolidated growth of digital laws and surely it cannot be denied that data is the new oil. In an automated world everything is big-data driven therefore, it is necessary that there is an adequate regulation and growth of sound jurisprudence on data protection law. The draft bill on Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019 is about to be enacted, which again would be the prime legislation for governing the matters of data protection law in India. The coming of the enactment would create new legislative entities in form of Data Protection Authority, Appellate Tribunal and will also create positions of Data Protection Officer at Data-Fiduciary level. With the nascent origin of data protection legislation, and thousands of Data-Driven companies working in India, there would be a large demand for Data Protection Officers in the coming times. Therefore, it is a conducive time for tapping into this opportunity, thus in pursuance of this goal, the Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur is starting a Certificate Course on Data Protection Law for embedding within the participants the jurisprudential aspect of privacy, data protection and ancillary technological advancements.     

LEARNING OUTCOME

The Individual undergoing the course would be able to:

1)      Differentiate between Privacy Rights & Data Protection Rights

2)      Differentiate the jurisprudential approaches between dignity-based approach & freedom-based approach

3)      Differentiate between different forms of privacy policies

4)      Undertake Data Protection Impact Assessment

5)      Understand the intricacies of Blockchain

6)      Work as a consultant for Data Fiduciaries (for Data Processing Companies)

The individual undergoing this certificate course would be in a position to be able to apply for following jobs:

DURATION: The Course would mostly run-on weekends (including Fridays and on some weekdays). The course starts (tentatively) from 1st October and ends on 30th October 2021.

·         The last date for registering is 25th September 2021.

·         Only first 50 participants would be considered.        

COURSE FEE

·         INR 12,000 per participant

·         The Course would be conducted online.

EVALUATION AND CERTIFICATION

·         Successfully passing an online quiz examination on the topics covered in the lecture

·         Timely submission of the project assigned by the participants

The Participant would be awarded the Certificate after fulfilling the above-mentioned criteria
